Monday Dog Blog: Mommy and G Do Agility! #proudmoment

Click here to view the video in YouTube.

I am so proud of G and me for our accomplishments in agility class!

We (Mom, Tovah Rose, Gershwin and I) took an agility class this summer and it's the first time I have been physically able to participate in such a class in any way.

Mom has taken several classes with the both of the dogs.

So, here are two videos from our last night of class!

The first one is me with G running a course--and I wasn't allowed to give him any verbal commands or encouragement. He did great!

This second video (click here) is another fun course. The instructor had us mix up the course using notecards with the obstacles listed on them. It was so hard to memorize the order of the cards and execute it! But, we did it!

I'm so proud for two reasons:

1. Being able to do this and run the obstacles with the dogs is really exciting and a HUGE accomplishment for me.

2. Gershwin has been struggling tremendously with anxiety and fear of sounds and other things, so we have been working with him a lot to help him to feel better. We were so proud of him for ending class with a level of enjoyment rather than fear.

Tovah took the class too, but she was less than enthusiastic about it all. She just wiggles her little butt and moves as if she can't be bothered with such silly things!

We have met so many wonderful people and dogs in these classes and it's such a great distraction from all of life's stresses!

Up next: a tricks class this Fall.

Happy Monday!

Blessings,

Emily
