Monday Dog Blog: Good Morning Mommy

Morning Love

When I wake up in the (very) late morning, I can't wait to have the puppies visit me in the bedroom. The first thing I do after taking my meds is call them to come visit.

This morning, they were quite comfy and cute snuggled up on the bed while I got dressed.

There's not better way to wake up than to these two sweet faces and to these little ones who just want to cuddle.

Great New Toy, Mom and Mommy!

For Tovah Rose, the shoe options just keep getting better and better around here. Mom and I found these super cool felted insoles at the farmers market.

Mom didn't put her shoes in a 'safe place' after being outside. As I was eating lunch I kept hearing a little thumping noise. Assuming it was something outside, I didn't pay too much attention.

Then it hit me: that's Tovah Rose dragging shoes around and dropping them in another location.

No shoe is too big or too heavy for this little girl to tackle.

Caught Red-Pawed

Her new favorite thing is to take the insoles out of Mom's shoes. She doesn't need toys. Just shoes. And felted insoles.

Happy Monday!

Blessings,

Emily

Monday Dog Blog: It's A Bright Sunshiny Day

One Cool Girl

All that bright white snow out there seems to mean Miss Tovah Rose needs some cool shades! Thanks, Kierny, for letting her borrow them.

You Can't Move Mom! I'm Very Comfy.

Last week's cold weather meant it was time to bring out the pink and blue camo fleece jackets for the puppies. It also meant a lot of excellent cuddle time indoors.

Looking Pitiful After His Teeth Cleaning!

Gershwin had a bit of a rough day on Thursday when he got his teeth cleaned--he was one dazed and confused little guy.

Sweet Boy

But by the next day, he was just fine and back to his sweet little cuddly self.

Happy Monday!

Blessings,

Emily

Monday Dog Blog: Green Beans

Green Beans

Our Tovah Rose can be a little bit of a pistol. She's full of piss and vinegar most days.

She also, apparently, doesn't like green beans.

Over the past three and half years, we've tried so many different types of kibble we've lost track. We've finally found one both puppies like, but Tovah consistently leaves the green beans behind.

At first we thought it might just be coincidence, but now we see she does it regularly. The only time she eats the green beans is when she's really hungry. How she manages to pick the green beans out of the bowl of kibble we don't know, but it gives us a laugh daily.

As you can imagine, Gershwin eats every last bite of kibble and is happy to eat Tovah's leftover green beans if I offer them to him.

Perfectly Comfortable

She doesn't like her green beans. And sometimes, she doesn't like to sleep with her head inside the bed.

Exhausted After an Hour Long Walk with Mom

And sometimes she does.

When The Puppies are Most Content

It's all just part of a day in Tovah Rose's life. :)

Happy Monday!

Blessings,

Emily

Monday Dog Blog: Happy New Year!

Mr. Handsome and Miss Princess

We're here to say:

Happy New Year!

G is Ready for the New Year!

Mommy had a young college student take some professional pictures of us in October, and we sure think she did a good job capturing how handsome and cute we are!

Tovah is Ready for 2016!

We didn't make any resolutions for the new year, but we're heading into it with our usual zest for life.

We like this particular bit of Dog Wisdom from the Macone Clay Company:

Dog Wisdom

Be Loyal. Be Faithful.
Learn New Tricks.
Chase Your Dreams.
Never Stop Playing.
Wag More ~ Bark Less.
Be a Best Friend.
Love Unconditionally.
Dig Life!

Gershwin and Tovah Rose Under the Dogwood Tree

Now that we can do! We can also cuddle a lot and make Mommy and Mom laugh lots. We also need a LOT of naps and cannot understand why taking naps is not part of the Dog Wisdom. The one thing Mommy and Mom would really like is if we honored the part about barking less!

We do our best to live our lives well, and we'll keep at it.

Blessings to you in the New Year!

Tovah Rose and Gershwin

Happy 2016!

Attending a Basketball Game!

2015 ended on a wonderful note.

I grew up attending women's college basketball games with my parents and learning to love the game. Well, after 18 years of being unable to attend a game because of the stairs, the sitting upright and most especially the LOUD noises and BRIGHT lights (and overstimulation in general), I went to a game with Mom on New Year's Eve Day! We even WON (which hasn't been happening much). Mom and I had so much fun and I can't wait to go to some more games with her.

Chef at Work!

After a short nap, Kiernan headed over to make dinner: fresh lobsters! He also made a wonderful spinach, candied pecan, pomegranate and dried cranberry salad. We had baked potatoes, a sushi appetizer and strawberries dipped in chocolate.

K and I decided that the perfect New Year's Eve to us was a yummy meal here, crawling into our PJs and watching a movie. We curled up on the sofa with the puppies and watched an old Steve Martin film, L.A. Story, and it was perfect.

No Getting Glammed Up For Us! PJs and A Movie!

2015 has been a wild ride. It's been full of new adventures, milestone after milestone, falling in love, trying new things, traveling, going out to eat, spending time with friends and family, driving, climbing the stairs, sitting upright in movie theaters and performance venues, fundraising, healing and more good news from Dr. Rowe.

Sometimes it's been hard to keep up emotionally and physically with the changes happening in my life. So unexpected, so welcomed, so overwhelming. I never thought I'd see a year like this. This has been a year consumed by going from illness to wellness with both the joys and challenges that accompany that experience.

2015 was an incredibly special year, and I have hope that 2016 will continue to bring healing and special new adventures.

Blessings to you and yours in 2016!

Emily
