We Charmed Peter! |
I have really enjoyed owning Lowchen for several reasons. Not only do I love the breed, but because the breed is so rare I'm part of a small community of dog owners, keep in touch with others who have Lowchen (especially G's brother) from the same breeder, and keep in touch with the breeder herself. At the holidays, Dayle sends an email out to her families who have adopted from her and we all share pictures of our puppies. Because Dayle only has a couple of litters a year (and litters are very small with only one to three puppies in each), she's engaged in the lives of her 'babies' and the families that own them.
When she received an email from Dr. Peter inquiring about a Lowchen, she put him in touch with us since we were a much closer drive for him than traveling to her house to meet a Lowchen. Like most people, Peter had never met a Lowchen in person. We had not either when we adopted Tovah Rose and took a huge leap of faith and trusted in Dayle's portrayal of the breed.
We all really enjoyed hosting Peter and introducing him to the Lowchen breed. We have two very different personalities when it comes to this breed--so Peter saw both ends of the spectrum of how Lowchen can be!
Tovah spent much of the visit on the back of the sofa draped around Peter's neck. The puppies definitely sensed immediately that Peter was a dog lover.
And, guess what? They clearly charmed Peter because he emailed Dayle the next day to say he had decided to adopt a puppy this year in late summer.
I'm excited to know another Lowchen family and keep in touch with their adventures too!
We hope you love your Lowchen as much as we do, Peter. And we thank you for your visit to our home!
Happy Monday!
Blessings,
Emily
