Monday Dog Blog: Still Chillaxing

We haven't had too many beach days lately, but when we do we sure do enjoy catching the rays. I (Tovah Rose) prefer to sit on a lap, as a princess should, rather than get too sandy or wet.

My crazy little brother went in the water and afterwards he decided to roll around and dig in the sand. What a mess!

After those beach days, we needed to be groomed again. Here I am looking absolutely gorgeous. :)

I guess my brother looks pretty good himself, eh?

Oops, I didn't realize you were taking a picture, Mommy!

There's a truck over there somewhere that G finds much more interesting than looking at the camera!

It's hard to believe we are winding down our time here at the beach. We've so enjoyed having so much one on one time with Mommy and Mom!

Happy Monday!

Blessings and Paw Prints,

Tovah Rose

Monday Dog Blog: Beach Swimming and Walking

Gone Swimming!

Hey! It's Gershwin here again this week.

Let me tell you about the week *I* had!

Ready to Roll

We have continued to have the most glorious weather here--the warmest we've ever had while here in the winter and the most beach days we have ever had.

A Little Walk with Mom

I always walk next to the Rolls, but Tovah usually rides. This year, if it's not too windy, she has learned to walk on the other side of the Rolls.

I think this is a much more fair situation than the previous one in which she always hitches a ride with Mommy and I have to walk the whole time. Mommy says that if I was a little smaller I could ride in her lap.

Loving the Beach Days!

Mommy has continued to practice her walking every day and we're so proud of her!

Walking with Mommy

Yesterday she broke her own record and walked .47 miles straight!

Catching the Waves!

One day we walked all the way to the end of the island (two miles each way)!

So Much Fun!

I was so excited to be there and loved the way the waves hit the jetty that I went for a big swim!

Look at Me Go!

It was so so much fun to run around off of the leash and get all sandy and wet.

Whew. Now What?

I hope we get to go to the beach one more day this week and go for a swim before we head to the groomer on Thursday.

I really do like the ocean.

Looking for Sand Dollars with Mommy

As you can see, Tovah Rose stays with Mom away from the water. Mommy and I went looking for sand dollars!

Peace, Love, Joy, Blessings

and sandy noses...

Happy Monday!

Monday Dog Blog: A Beachy Update

Freshly Groomed

We went to the groomer last week to get pretty. We love, love, love to go see Linda, the groomer we have gone to all three years while here visiting.

Wisdom at the Groomer

Her new shop has some very good life advice that we took very seriously.

T: A Windy Beach Day

In past years, Mommy's energy has been pretty low and we've also had more rainy and/or cold days.

G: Wow, I'm Pooped After that Walk!

But this year the weather has been really fantastic, and we've made it to the beach a LOT, plus taken a lot of StRolls around the neighborhood where we have seen turtles, osprey and alligators!

G: Running Free!

We are just so happy here!

Mommy has let us run loose on the beach, and I (Gershwin) LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to do this and share this joy with Mommy.

G: Running to Mommy

I like to get my paws wet.

T: I Do Not Like That Cold Wet Rain Mommy!

We've only had to wear our raincoats once, and boy did we get wet!

G: Sacked Out

All of the fresh air and long walks really makes us sleep well.

G: Tovah Stole My Crate!

Sometimes Tovah crawls into my crate and I am just not sure what to think. I'm a very patient little brother, so I let her stay in my crate while I hung out nearby.

Sunning

We continue to enjoy the Carolina sunshine.

TV and Snuggle Time!

Mommy and Mom have enjoyed watching some TV and movies in the evenings, which we all enjoy immensely. We've started the series Masters of Sex, and watched the movies Bridge of Spies, Big Eyes, Paper Towns and Suffragette. We are also up-to-date on Downton Abbey!

G: A Pensive Moment

We enjoy the beach as much as Mommy and Mom.

G: Mr. Handsome

T: Beach Princess

T: Helping With Sand Art

Mommy likes to play in the sand.

We Love Sunset Beach and YOU!

We just wanted to send love from all of us here at Sunset Beach!

Happy Monday!

Blessings,

Gershwin (and Tovah Rose)

Monday Dog Blog: Our First Week at the Beach

Our First Day at the Beach

Here we are at Sunset Beach!

Ready to Go

It's our happy place!

We went to the beach every day this week since our arrival (Tuesday-Sunday). This week it is supposed to be colder, rainier and drearier, so we expect to have some down time to be inside and snuggle.

Afternoon Sunning

We enjoy sunning in the dining room.

Perfect Spot

I (Tovah Rose) am particularly fond of this activity.

Ahh, Taste That Fresh Salty Air!

I also love that fresh beach air blowing through my hair,

catching the rays,

and breathing in the fresh salt sea air.

I (Gershwin) really love the beach too,

That Was Lots Of Fun!

especially when Mommy lets me run loose like a wild child.

I got good and dirty and wet today.

Taking a Breather

Sometimes after all of that play and those long walks we just need a little rest on Mommy's lap!

Ming

This is our new best friend, Ming.

Just like in previous years, we have met so many people who admire us for our good looks and also so many other handsome dogs (Abby, Oscar, Ming, Buddy, Finley, Murray...and so many more!)

I (Tovah) still find time to get into a little trouble even when I am tired from being at the beach--I love Mom's slippers!

And I'm pretty goofy. I like G's crate a lot even though it is so big for me. Still I found a way to hang my head outside the crate. :)

Mommy is obsessed with what she calls 'safety first', so here we are ready for our nighttime walk!

No cars will miss seeing us!

All of that fresh air really wears us out. We have been sleeping quite well!

Mommy is practicing her walking (about 1/3 of a mile consecutively each day) and lots of smaller distances. She's doing about 5,000-5,500 steps a day and we are very proud of her!

We love walking beside her.

We've had a great first week at the beach.

Blessings,

Tovah Rose and Gershwin
