Monday Dog Blog: Therapy Dog Class and Leisure Time

Hey!

It's Tovah Rose Twinkle Toes here with my Little Pink Sock.

(If you have never read the comic Mutts, it's about time you start!)

Here's Gershwin with Mommy at our Therapy Dog Class.

Our last class is tonight and we will really miss this class. It has been so much fun for all of us.

I'm proud of Gershwin because he has been working on overcoming some of his fears, especially to noise.

I am proud of myself because I seem to be well-tempered to be a therapy dog.

Andrea, Mel, Octavia, Claudia and Griffin

Mommy is uncertain how far she would like to take the training for us to actually become certified, but the focus on taking the class, spending time with us, and on training throughout the week has helped Mommy to heal her heart.

Tovah Practices Being Pet by Octavia

Sometimes, we can see how sad she is. And we see that when she starts training us and we are silly and funny and having fun she starts to feel better. We see her laugh and smile and become completely absorbed in us.

Look Who Had a Birthday!

Last week at class, Mommy let the other members know that it was Mom's birthday!

Being Serenaded

So, Mel made sure that everyone sang happy birthday!

Octavia, who is in the little walker, was pretending to be a child in a wheelchair so that the puppies could practice with being around medical equipment,

We LOVE this little girl, who has been present for almost all of the classes we have taken. Octavia always gives us lots of love and also gives Mommy hugs.

So much of what makes the classes so fun is the people and dogs we meet and have gotten to know over the last couple of years.

This summer we are planning to take an agility class!

Mommy is super excited about the progress she has made and the ability to take these classes with us.

Gershwin Needs Snuggles

Other than being star pupils in our Therapy Dog Training class, life remains good at home. We work hard, but we do get time for leisure.

We still get in our snuggles and we love that Mommy can walk us now.

Little Brothers are SO Annoying

We still fight like siblings.

Do you see how Gershwin is IN MY FREAKING SPACE here?! I mean, he is right in front of MY RED BED.

I let him know in no uncertain terms that this was unacceptable!

But, alas, he didn't listen OR move!

I Love Spring!

Mom left these pillows on the sofa today.

Perfect for bunny watching.

And, oh, are there ever a lot of bunnies out there.

Life is good.

Blessings,

Tovah Rose

Monday Dog Blog: Happy Birthday Mom!

Sunset Beach 2017

Hey Mom!

We want to wish you a very, very, very happy birthday today!

Tovah's Bday 2017

We know how much you do for us.

Here we are watching you in the kitchen (and hoping maybe you are getting us some kefir? Or dinner?).

Opening Her Presents!

We know we add a lot more work,

With Some Help from Gershwin

and especially messes (!!) to your life.

Sunset Beach 2017

We also know how much we appreciate you and all that you do for us.

Gershwin Looking For Some Snuggles!

You also know just where to pet us.

A Common Scene

You've let us take over your favorite sofa, resorting to covering it in an old duvet cover.

Tovah On Her Birthday--I Think She Was a Little Sad that it was a Rainy Day!

You keep the yard looking so pretty that even when it's dreary and rainy and we can't go outside to play, Tovah can enjoy watching the pretty scenery from indoors!

Tovah had a really great birthday last week,

and hopes you have just as special of a day as she did.

She really enjoyed opening her presents.

And her birthday kiss from Gershwin!

Kindred Spirit Mailbox, 2017

We know our mom is the bestest.

Thanks, Mom.

Lots and lots of sloppy kisses for you today.

We will also try to be quiet, obedient, polite, get out our own meals, not protest when you want to go for a walk....um....this is pushing it a bit.

Let's stick with the sloppy kisses and some snuggles...

Love,

Tovah Rose and Gershwin

Happy 5th Birthday Tovah Rose!

I can't believe my sweet baby girl is 5 today!

This thirteen pound girl is all sass, all attitude, all personality, and most of all...LOVE.

I wouldn't have it any other way.

Tovah has one birthday request: Would Gershwin PLEASE just let her go outside in peace? She reports that she is fed up with him dragging her out the door by her ears.

She'd like a break from her little brother today. :)

Thanks, Tovah Rose, for filling all of our lives with joy, love and laughter.

May you have many more years of stealing shoes, patrolling the yard, outrunning your brother, keeping the bunnies in line, chasing mail trucks, sleeping in the shade of the dogwood tree, and snuggling with us.

Blessings,

Emily

Monday Dog Blog: Gardening with Mommy!

Oh, hello there faithful readers!

Boy, do we ever have some fun news to share this week.

One of my very favorite things is to help with the gardening.

I started out enjoying the shade of the burning bush.

But once Mom and Mommy got started with the planting, I needed to be in on the action.

I've already squished some of the marigolds Mommy planted.

Can you tell by all of that dirt on my face that I really enjoyed helping?

What made this year so different and exciting?

Well, Mommy was able to plant a bunch of marigolds and several dahlia bulbs. She spent 2 hours digging and planting!

As you can see from the photo above, Tovah and I are supervising the whole thing.

It makes us both so very happy to be outside with Mom and Mommy, and to see that Mommy can garden now too!

While I kept busy helping with the planting, Tovah discovered another new hobby.

She dug a nice hole for herself.

Then, settled in to the cool soil for a rest.

She must have learned this at the beach where she settled into the sandy holes!

Mommy was kinda like, um, what do I do with Tovah Rose now?!

What a mess she was!

We may have been quite dirty, but we had lots of fun, and Mommy was so joyful and happy that she could do more gardening and planting.

We remember when she reclined in the zero gravity chair, while watching Mom out in the yard.

In other news, Spring is great!

We still love our spot under the Kousa Dogwood tree where we can patrol a large portion of the yard.

Mommy rarely catches a shot of us on the opposite end of the yard, but here we are patrolling the far end. We wanted to say hi to Marge and Dessa who were passing by.

But then I saw this volunteer pansy and thought it looked tasty.

I thought the petal I tried was pretty good.

And doesn't my sister look so pretty next to the dandelions?

Mommy really enjoyed her gardening, and we love how much more we get to be with her outside in the yard, going for walks or training for our Dog Therapy Class.

We worked pretty hard today, and now Tovah Rose is snoring in her crate!

I need to finish this post so I can go to bed too!

Happy Monday!

Blessings,

Gershwin

Monday Dog Blog: Settling In

We've had a pretty uneventful week here, so Mommy seems to be short on cute pics of us.

Mommy went to visit our Congressman on Tuesday to do some #resisting.

That evening we celebrated Passover.

She had book club today.

Otherwise, we've been settling back into a routine here at home, hoping that we can stay put for a while, enjoy our yard, walks, dog training class, and visitors.

I enjoyed snuggling with this big toy in my bed!

Mommy caught this pic of me looking out the window when she was outside. I really love the sofas and have kind of taken them over.

Happy Monday!

Blessings,

Tovah Rose
