Monday Dog Blog: Parks, Practicing, and Patience

Mommy thinks it gets a little boring just walking around our neighborhood for her little walks.

So, she decided it might be fun to sometimes go somewhere out in nature or enjoy some of the wonderful parks in our town.

Our first stop was this park with a wonderful, flat one mile loop with views of the mountains,

rocks to rest on,

and quiet from the noise of life.

We love exploring new places!

As part of our training, we need to learn to be better about obeying commands in a setting with distractions like cars, noises, other people and dogs.

We can safely do this at this park.

If we mess up our 'stay', we are still safe.

Mommy loves that she can be with us to do some training and take us for a short walk.

And being out in nature helps her to process her grief.

In other news we finished our Therapy Dog Class last week!

We did GREAT! And this is our first step to becoming Animal Assisted Therapy Dogs.

We don't know if we will be able to go that far with training, but we enjoy practicing and so does Mommy.

Tomorrow we are going to take the Canine Good Citizen Test!

Wish us luck!

It's okay if we don't pass, but we want to try the test and see how it goes and what we need to learn to do better for the next time.

We will go wherever Mommy wants us to go--because we love being together and we love that she can find solace in nature. We will keep you abreast of our exciting outings! :)

And we will let you know how our big test goes!

Happy Monday!

Blessings,

Emily

I love the stream along the walking route. What a plus! If it gurgled as you walked, even better!
